HCMC – As the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, has just two days to go, a festive atmosphere can be felt on the streets across HCMC. Supermarkets have attracted huge crowds of shoppers who want to do the last-minute shopping to stock up on enough food and snacks for Tet for family and friends. Tet is a once-in-a-year occasion for family reunion in Vietnam.

Loan, the owner of a sweet store at the market, said the number of customers has surged but it is lower than last year as many workers started returning to their hometowns the previous month
“I began shopping for Tet right after my office closed for Tet. Now I am planning to buy some dry food and a few kilograms of meat to make traditional Tet food,” said Lac Ha, a shopper residing in District 10 – PHOTO: LE VU
