HCMC – Authorities of Soc Trang Province have surveyed two river sand mines with total reserves of 3.3 million cubic meters which can be used for the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang Expressway project.
The survey was conducted on August 7 by Lam Van Man, secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, and Tran Van Lau, the provincial chairman, along with representatives from various agencies.
Sand mine No. 11, located in Tran De and Cu Lao Dung districts, has total reserves of around 2.1 million cubic meters. Previously, Hai Dang JVC got approval from the province to tap the river sand mine to serve the expressway’s construction, with the total amount of sand permitted for extraction being about 400,000 cubic meters.
Meanwhile, sand mine No. 3, with reserves of 1.1 million cubic meters, in Nhon My Commune, Ke Sach District, could supply 400,000 cubic meters of sand for the expressway project. Construction Corporation No. 1 is authorized to exploit sand mine No. 3.
The chairman told relevant units to accelerate their progress to supply sand for the expressway’s construction promptly, as directed by the prime minister.
