HCMC – Transformed from a historic former tobacco factory, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park stands out with its unique blend of classic and contemporary architecture. It serves as a vibrant hub connecting art, design, cultural activities, and creative businesses, while also providing a dynamic space for talented artists to showcase their work.
Built in 1937, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP) was originally Taiwan’s first cigarette-rolling factory, specializing in the production of cigarettes and cigars. At its peak, the factory generated considerable income for Taiwan.
In 2001, the factory was recognized by the Taipei City authority as the city’s 99th municipal historic site. A decade later, in 2011, it was transformed into the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and opened to the public, becoming one of Taipei’s most vibrant cultural and artistic destinations.
The Machinery Repair Plant was used to repair cigarette manufacturing equipment and machines. Today, it has been renovated into a creative dining space that fuses Taiwanese culinary with French culinary techniquesThe Boiler Room played a crucial role in supplying all thermal energy to the entire factory.
