HCMC – Standard Chartered and Microsoft have joined forces to introduce the “Code; Without Barriers” program aimed at bolstering women’s leadership in the technology sector in Vietnam and wider Asia.

The program’s objectives include raising awareness and advocating for increased female participation in technology fields, as well as providing digital skills training and networking opportunities.

Both organizations aspire to cultivate a robust ecosystem of female leaders and enhance female employability within the technology workforce.

The 12-month program will offer technology upskilling courses tailored for all Standard Chartered employees, with a particular emphasis on women. Additionally, it will feature networking events, panel discussions, and podcasts spotlighting the growing role of women in technology.

Activities encompass codefests, skills challenges, mentorship and coaching sessions, and Microsoft training sessions for AI Fundamentals certifications.

Michele Wee, CEO at Standard Chartered Vietnam, said, “This collaboration aligns with our commitment to promoting inclusive economic growth, especially in the frontier markets where we operate.”

The initiative is anticipated to empower a new generation of women in the tech industry and foster a more diverse and inclusive digital economy in Vietnam, said Nguyen Quynh Tram, country general manager at Microsoft Vietnam.
