STF grants 50 scholarships to poor students in Nghe An

HCMC – The Saigon Times Foundation (STF), a non-profit organization of the Saigon Times Group, presented 50 “STF-Pham Phu Thu” scholarships worth a total of VND50 million to poor students in Thanh Lam Commune, Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province, on November 5.

The scholarships were funded by Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, co-founder of the “STF-Pham Phu Thu” scholarship program.

Addressing the scholarship presentation ceremony, Trinh Van Nha, chairman of Thanh Chuong District, said, “I would like to thank the ‘STF-Pham Phu Thu’ scholarship program for supporting poor students in Thanh Lam Commune, Thanh Chuong District. The scholarships will encourage the students to study harder, overcome difficulties and head toward a brighter future.”

The “STF-Pham Phu Thu” scholarship program was initiated by Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, chairman of GIBC; Nguyen Thanh Sang, chairman of Phuoc Thinh-Palm Garden Resort; and Nguyen Su, former Party secretary of Hoi An City, to help poor students pursue schooling.

Since it was founded in January 2017, the program has given more than 3,400 scholarships worth over VND7 billion to students with disadvantaged backgrounds but an excellent academic performance across the country.
