Revamping net zero emission roadmap

Starting on January 1, 2024, Vietnam has embarked on a transformative journey by holding producers and importers accountable for recycling practices. In a pioneering move, the nation has also unveiled its strategy for developing hydrogen energy and venturing into the export of renewable energy to international markets. As the world welcomed the dawn of 2024, it found itself engaged in a profound recalibration of the net zero emission roadmap for 2050. The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP 28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change delivered a resounding message that achieving net zero emissions by 2050, as stipulated in the 2015 Paris Agreement, would require substantial and comprehensive adjustments. The primary objective of the Paris Agreement in 2015 was to curtail global warming to within +2°C above pre-industrial levels, with an even more ambitious target of limiting it to +1.5°C.
