HCMC – Taiwan has initiated a dumping investigation into cement and clinker imports from Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The investigation focuses on cement and clinker classified under Taiwan’s import codes 2523.29.90.00.2 and 2523.10.90.00.3.

The probe, requested by the Taiwan Cement Manufacturers Association, will cover imports from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. The alleged dumping margin for these Vietnamese products is 16.99%.

On August 12, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) published the final conclusion of the second sunset review on the anti-dumping duties imposed on wind towers imported from Vietnam.

The DOC’s findings indicate that removing these duties could lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping, with an average dumping margin of up to 58.24%.
