HCMC – Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC is looking to handle nearly 24 million passengers in the summer from June to August this year.
The airport said in a statement that over 150,000 flights have been scheduled for this period, a 6.6% year-on-year increase.
To ensure smooth operations, the airport has deployed more personnel at security checkpoints and throughout the terminals to provide customer support.
In a recent development, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has permitted passengers to use the mobile ID app VNeID on a trial basis for boarding domestic flights at all local airports, including Tan Son Nhat.
This trial allows level-2 eID accounts to replace plastic ID cards or other travel documents for domestic flights and participation is voluntary.
Level-2 eID accounts offer personal information that can be utilized for public services, integrating vehicle registration information, replacing chip-based ID cards, reporting crimes, and updating residential information.
