HCMC – Vietnam’s exports of computers, phones, and tech components reached nearly US$66 billion by July 15, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
The Vietnam News Agency reported that shipments of electronic products and components alone totaled US$36.32 billion, marking a 29.11% increase over the previous year. This segment accounted for over 17.5% of the country’s total export turnover. Meanwhile, exports of phones and phone parts reached US$29.57 billion.
As a result, computers, electronic products, and components have become Vietnam’s leading export earners, surpassing phones and phone parts by export value.
The United States, China, and the European Union continue to be the largest markets for these products.
On the import side, Vietnam brought in nearly US$5 billion worth of computers, electronic products, and components in the first half of July, taking the total import value of these items to US$54.3 billion. This represents a year-on-year increase of 28.4%, accounting for nearly 28% of the country’s total import turnover.
China and South Korea are the largest sources of these imports.
