The 188th death anniversary of Marshal Le Van Duyet

Last Wednesday, September 16, the 188th dead anniversary of General Le Van Duyet (1764-1832) took place attracting many Saigon residents. The three-day ceremony was held in Lang Ong Ba Chieu Temple, where the  tombs of Le Van Duyet and his wife are.

The temple is at the end of a section of Dinh Tien Hoang Street which was renamed for the late marshal at the same time with his 188th dead ceremony. The 947-meter Le Van Duyet Street stretches from the Bong Bridge to Phan Dang Luu Street.

Le Van Duyet is a high-ranking mandarin under the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) who had great contributions to the development of the southern region of Vietnam.
