In the central city of Hoi An, locals continue to embrace their traditional fishing methods in the Thu Bon and Hoai rivers. The age-old practice involves the use of nets to catch fish.
To execute this method, a net and a shack are positioned in a fixed location along the river, connected by a system that allows for the raising and lowering of the nets. The net is strung on four bamboo poles. Once the net is hauled up, the fishermen employ basket boats or small boats to collect fish.
