HCMC – TUI Blue Nam Hoi An and Victoria Can Tho resorts met with travel and aviation agents on March 24 to promote tourism growth in the Mekong Delta and central Vietnam.
Speaking with The Saigon Times, Vo Xuan Thu, general manager of Victoria Can Tho Resort, said that the flights linking Can Tho and Danang, which make it convenient for passengers to travel across the two regions, gave her chances to promote her tourism products to potential clients in the Mekong Delta and central Vietnam.
Beside a four-star resort by the Hau river, Victoria Can Tho has a Victoria Mekong yacht, which offers travelers one to three-day cruises to Can Tho, Long Xuyen and Chau Doc to enjoy local nature, culture and food.
According to Anton Bespalov, general manager of TUI Blue Nam Hoi An Resort, his five-star resort has 318 rooms, luxurious villas, restaurants serving Asian and Western cuisine, and a variety of resort amenities including sea sports and health care.
“TUI Blue Nam Hoi An is only 20 kilometers from Chu Lai airport. This is an advantage when the Can Tho-Chu Lai air service is launched. We hope to receive more visitors from other flights, apart from those on the current Can Tho-Danang route,” Bespalov added.
Currently, there are 20 Can Tho-Danang flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air a week. Passengers from the Mekong Delta to Danang and other central provinces outnumber those in the opposite direction, said representatives at the event.
Thu attributed the issue to the waning effect of media and tourism product promotion among localities and travel agents, citing the Can Tho-Danang flight schedule as a good example.
Echoing the view, Bernoit Berdu, general manager of TransMekong Travel Agency said that agencies should promote their tourism products in detail and there should be more flights with schedules that can meet customer demands.
At the event, Pham Minh Tuan, general manager of Victoria Chau Doc and Victoria Nui Sam resorts, introduced the 10-kilometer Nui Cam Trekking and 10-21-42-kilometer Nui Cam Trail-Running for the upcoming Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holiday.
According to Nguyen Minh Duc Uy at Bamboo Airways, the carrier will link the Mekong Delta with Hanoi City via Ca Mau-Hanoi flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays before starting work on another project linking the Mekong Delta with Danang.
