HCMC – The HCMC government yesterday, January 3, presented the 2024 HCMC Brand Awards to 29 outstanding businesses. These companies represent a diverse range of sectors, including machinery, consumer goods, textiles, food processing, and services.
These HCMC-based enterprises collectively generated over VND258 trillion in revenue, created employment for more than 93,000 individuals, and contributed nearly VND11 trillion to the State budget in 2024.
The HCMC Brand Awards, an annual program officially directed by the HCMC People’s Committee, was organized by the city’s Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Saigon Times Group.
Focused on “Innovation and Sustainability,” the fifth edition of the annual awards aimed to set a new benchmark for objectivity and professionalism. The organizing committee seeks to elevate the program’s prestige and expand its influence, ultimately strengthening the brands of HCMC and Vietnam on the global stage.
The selection process underscored criteria such as transparency, legal compliance, ethical business practices, human resource management, operational efficiency, effective brand management, and adherence to quality and safety standards. A particular focus was placed on businesses demonstrating innovation, embracing green transformation, and leveraging digital technologies.
The panel of judges consists of renowned economists, digital technology experts, branding consultants, and representatives from the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade, the Saigon Times Group, the Institute for Brand and Competitiveness Strategy, the Vietnam Marketing Association, the HCMC Automation Association, and the HCMC Union of Business Associations.
To ensure comprehensive evaluation, the organizing committee partnered with Kantar Vietnam, an independent market research firm, to conduct a consumer survey assessing brand awareness. The survey results informed the awarding of special categories, including “Brand for Innovation,” “Brand for Sustainability,” “Brand among Youth,” and “Brand for Corporate Social Responsibility.”
Among the awardees, three companies earned the award for the first time, while 19 companies achieved their third consecutive win. The ceremony also honored businesses that have consistently received the award over the years.
According to the organizing committee, the awarded businesses demonstrate a consistent commitment to research and development, continuous product and service innovation, and adaptability in challenging market conditions.
These businesses prioritize sustainable practices, investing in technologies that reduce energy consumption and increase the utilization of recycled materials. They also contribute to community development through charitable initiatives and programs that enhance the well-being of their employees and support underprivileged members of society.
