HCMC – U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper attended a ceremony to inaugurate a kindergarten and a medical clinic, also functioning as community houses for residents during the flooding season, in Quang Binh Province yesterday, January 12.
These two projects in Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province were funded by the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation with a total value of US$700,000.
According to the ambassador, the above projects show the U.S. efforts in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
The two-story kindergarten has five classrooms with learning equipment, a teacher’s room, a kitchen and a playground for kids. Meanwhile, the medical clinic with two floors covers an area of 600 square meters and has a vehicle parking space.
These projects are meaningful as they not only serve the local residents’ learning and medical demands but also function as a shelter during flooding seasons, according to Ho An Phong, vice chairman of the Quang Binh People’s Committee.
