HCMC – Leading consumer goods company Unilever Vietnam has teamed up with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to launch a campaign addressing plastic pollution, environmental sanitation and nature regeneration in Vietnam.
The event was held in the north-central province of Nghe An as part of the June 5 World Environment Day celebration. It was aimed to promote practical actions, and raise public awareness about the preservation of natural resources and the environment.
The company also participated in the “Green Living Day” event organized by the HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment on June 3 and 4.
These initiatives were expected to promote eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyles, increase recycling and reuse, and foster a circular economy.
Unilever Vietnam has also launched a tree-planting campaign with the goal of planting 250,000 trees this year.
Since 2021, the company has joined hands with the Center for Communication of Natural Resources and Environment at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, to implement a program to plant one million trees by 2025.
So far, 380,000 trees and 60,000 seed balls have been planted in 19 provinces and nine national parks.
