On November 15 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, the UN Tourism (formerly UNWTO) named Tra Que Vegetable Village in Hoi An City of Vietnam as one of the 55 best tourism villages worldwide for 2024.
Established in the 16th century, Tra Que Vegetable Village is located three kilometers northeast of the historic ancient town of Hoi An. This charming village, nestled on a river island near the sea, boasts fertile soil ideal for organic farming.
Today, the village is home to 202 households and 326 farmers who cultivate organic vegetables across 18 hectares, providing a reliable source of income for the community.
Tra Que has also become a sought-after destination for both domestic and international tourists. Visitors can immerse themselves in the life of a farmer, participate in hands-on agricultural activities, and savor traditional dishes made from freshly grown produce.
