HCMC – The 19.5-kilometer section of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province had been 50% complete as of early November. It will be technically opened to traffic in April 2025.
About 225 pieces of equipment and 415 workers are currently at work to keep the project on schedule, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
With a total approved cost of over VND4.96 trillion, this component of the 53.7-kilometer Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway has seen accelerated progress since its groundbreaking in June 2023.
The four-lane expressway is expected to improve connectivity and boost socioeconomic development in the southeastern region, particularly between Bien Hoa City in Dong Nai Province and Vung Tau City in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The Cai Mep-Thi Vai Traffic Project Management Board, the project’s investor, is speeding up construction work during the dry season in southern Vietnam.
The board has taken additional measures, such as expediting the procurement of construction materials, to ensure timely project completion.
