HCMC – Vietnam and Argentina will boost two-way trade to US$10 billion by 2025, heard a discussion between Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue and the President of Argentina’s Chamber of Deputies, Cecilia Moreau.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1973, Argentina has signed many agreements with the country to promote comprehensive bilateral cooperation.

Vietnam is now the sixth largest trade partner and the fifth biggest export market of Argentina. Meanwhile, Argentina is Vietnam’s third largest trade partner in Latin America.

Two-way trade between the two countries rose from US$316 million in 2007 to US$4.8 billion in 2022 and the figure is expected to soar to US$10 billion by 2025.

To realize the target, the two countries will promote cooperation in traditional sectors and expand cooperation to new ones such as energy and mining.

Hue and his entourage arrived in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, on the afternoon of April 23 (on the morning of April 24, Hanoi time).
