HCMC – Vietnam and China have issued a joint statement which emphasizes the continued deepening of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations and the building of a strategic community with a shared future.
The joint statement was issued today, December 13, as China’s Party General Secretary and President, Xi Jinping, wrapped up his December 12-13 state visit.
It comprises five sections, placing a strong emphasis on continuously deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in alignment with the United Nations Charter and international law, the principles of mutual cooperation, respect for independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as the commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means.
One of the key points of the joint statement is that the two nations agree to build a strategic China-Vietnam community of ‘shared future’, striving for the happiness of the peoples of both nations, and for the noble cause of peace and progress for humanity.
Both sides agree to advance the Vietnam-China relationship into a new phase characterized by higher political trust, more substantive defense and security cooperation, deeper practical collaboration, a more resilient social foundation, tighter multilateral coordination, and better control of disputes.
China affirms its support for Vietnam’s prosperous development, independent economy, and international integration, as well as recognizes the growing importance of Vietnam in regional and global peace, stability, and development.
The Chinese side emphasizes a steadfast friendly policy towards Vietnam while Vietnam, in turn, asserts that the Vietnam-China relationship is a top priority in its independent, self-reliant, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy.
President Xi’s state visit to Vietnam was highly successful, marking a significant milestone in the history of bilateral relations between the two Parties and States. It contributes significantly to enhancing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, elevating the Vietnam-China relationship in the new era, and promoting peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
