Vietnam Covid-19 cases rise to 260

Must read

HCMC – The Ministry of Health today, April 12, announced two more cases of Covid-19 in Ha Loi Hamlet, Me Linh District, Hanoi City, taking to 260 the nation’s total number of confirmed cases.

The 259th patient, a 41-year-old woman, is the wife of the 254th carrier of the coronavirus, which causes the Covid-19 disease. The flower farmer’s positive test result came out on April 11, the local media reported.

The other patient, the 260th, is also a flower grower in the hamlet. The 35-year-old woman went to the local wet market as a daily routine and bought meat at Bay Huan’s stall where the 259th patient had purchased meat over the past two weeks. On April 6, when delivering flowers, she came into close contact with two individuals who had been exposed to the 243rd patient.

She tested positive for Covid-19 on April 11 and is receiving treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District.

As of tonight, April 12, Ha Loi Hamlet had become the country’s newest infection cluster with eight cases detected. The authorities have put the hamlet with 11,077 residents under lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
