HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will lead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to attend the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia, from May 9 to 11.
PM Chinh will attend the event at the invitation of the Indonesian President and Chairman of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, Joko Widodo, according to an announcement released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 5.
The ASEAN Summit will be held with the participation of ASEAN leaders and the Secretary-General of ASEAN. The Prime Minister of Timor-Leste has been invited to attend as an observer for the first time.
The ASEAN Summit will feature dialogues between ASEAN leaders and representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, ASEAN Business Advisory Council and the High-Level Task Force on the ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision.
Prime Minister Chinh will deliver important speeches, and propose measures to strengthen the ASEAN Community building process, enhance ASEAN’s relationships with its partners and exchange views on regional and international issues.
