HCMC – Vietnam’s tourism saw search volume soaring by 75% in 2023, earning it the 6th position in the world rankings, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) said, citing data from the Google market trend tracking tool.
The top countries displaying the highest level of interest in Vietnam’s tourism included the U.S., Australia, Japan, India, South Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Vietnam has become a popular choice for travelers with key destinations such as HCMC, Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang, Dalat and Hue.
Last year, the country’s tourism revenue amounted to VND672 trillion, with international arrivals reaching 12.6 million, nearly 3.5 times higher than in the previous year.
This surpassed 57% of the target set at the beginning of 2023, as reported by VNAT.
In the second half of last year, Vietnam consistently welcomed over one million foreign visitors per month, with December alone recording the highest number at 1.37 million.
