Vietnam reports no fresh Covid-19 cases this morning

HCMC – Vietnam has not reported any new case of Covid-19 this morning, August 11, leaving its total infections staying unchanged at 847, said the Health Ministry.

Of the country’s tally at 847, 399 cases have made full recovery, while 433 others are still under treatment. The number of locally-transmitted cases linked to Danang City, which is Vietnam’s current coronavirus hotspot, has reached 389 since July 25.

Another patient has died, raising the country’s Covid-19 death toll to 15 as of this morning, August 11.

The latest Covid-19 death, a 68-year-old resident of Quang Nam Province, had a medical history of chronic kidney failure, kidney cancer spreading to the lungs, and type 2 diabetes.

He died of severe pneumonia caused by Covid-19, complications of serious respiratory failure, pulmonary artery obstruction as a result of kidney cancer, chronic kidney failure, and type 2 diabetes, according to the Health Ministry.

On July 9, he was admitted to the Renal Endocrinology Department of Danang Hospital for treatment and was discharged on July 22.

The man tested positive for the novel coronavirus on July 30, tagged as the 522nd case. He died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday.
