HCMC – Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called upon Romania to bolster collaboration in the transfer of oil refinery technology and workforce training, aligning with Vietnam’s plans to expand its oil refining capabilities.
The PM made the statement during his visit to the Romanian county of Prahova on January 21, an area known for hosting a prominent oil refinery and a university with a traditional partnership with Vietnam.
PM Chinh said there have been ample opportunities for the two countries to strengthen cooperation on high potential aspects like oil refinery. Romania has advanced technology and experience, while Vietnam offers a growing market and a young, skilled workforce, he added.
The Vietnamese PM proposed joint efforts in promoting digital transformation and e-commerce.
Ștefan-Radu Oprea, Romania’s Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, stressed the importance of Romanian businesses seizing this occasion for collaboration with Vietnam.
He said Romania could serve as a gateway for Vietnamese products to access the 500-million-consumer European Union market.
