Vietnamese should be cautious over vaccine tours: Foreign Affairs Ministry

Must read

HCMC – Vietnamese people seeking to opt for tour packages to foreign countries inclusive of Covid-19 vaccinations should carefully consider them before booking trips as many countries are still tightening migration policies, said Le Thi Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at a press briefing on May 27, Hang said that local residents need to double check with the competent agencies of foreign countries through their representative offices in Vietnam about vaccine tour advertisements.

Regarding the use of Covid-19 vaccination passports for tourists to enter Vietnam, the spokesperson stated that Vietnam has no specific regulations on entry procedures for fully-vaccinated people.

Given the Covid-19 vaccine passports accepted by some countries around the world, following the prime mister’s order, the local competent forces are working and researching on as well as evaluating the issue.

The ministry is also coordinating with the relevant agencies to sum up the experience of foreign countries and propose appropriate migration measures, aimed at ensuring the safety of locals, fighting Covid-19 and promoting socioeconomic growth.

As for the suggestion of some foreign agencies and business associations in Vietnam to reduce the mandatory quarantine period, Hang added that the Ministry of Health and the relevant agencies are working to introduce appropriate quarantine guidelines for people entering Vietnam.
