HCMC – A group of students from Nghe An Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities No. 2 has recently presented their plan for fostering diversity and inclusion to British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew.
The 25 students, representing over 750 peers from 10 ethnicities, shared their communication strategy aimed at creating a safe and welcoming school environment.
Funded by the United Kingdom (UK) government’s Chevening Alumni Programme Fund, the plan includes activities such as awareness campaigns, cultural recognition initiatives, and group discussions to promote inclusivity.
“These students represent a generation full of passion, ambition, and aspirations to contribute to building a society that leaves no one behind,” said Frew.
Over 90% of the school’s students come from disadvantaged mountainous regions, with some hailing from neighboring Laos. The project aligns with Vietnam’s objectives for inclusive schools and the UN Sustainable Development Goals for quality education and reducing inequalities.
The student team will collaborate with Chevening Scholars and volunteers to implement and assess the impact of their initiatives.
