Vietnam’s ministry, Monash University co-hold international techfest

HCMC – The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Monash University, has organized the International Techfest 2023 in Melbourne, Australia, aiming to bring Vietnamese innovation startups to the global market.

This event, commemorating 50 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations, took place on September 20 during Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat’s official visit to Australia.

The International Techfest 2023 attracted Vietnamese and Australian officials, along with over 100 experts, investors, and investment funds from both countries.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat highlighted the event’s role as a platform for fostering opportunities for Australian companies in the Vietnamese market and promoting cross-border collaboration in technological solutions.

The techfest also provided a valuable learning opportunity for Vietnamese startup companies, offering insights into operational management processes, equipment, tools, and the latest technological research in Australia.

Several innovative startups had the chance to pitch their ideas to Australian venture capital firms, including Magic Edutech Group PTY LTD, Cyberkid, VSEC, Hana Gold, and Treeotek.

Additionally, various startup support organizations shared their experiences in creating an enabling international network for innovative startups from both countries.

At the event, Monash University Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Susan Elliott AM expressed pride in co-organizing the event and affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting innovation and technology entrepreneurship through collaborative research and partnerships.
