HCMC – Vingroup has broken ground on the 90-hectare national exhibition and convention center in Dong Anh District, Hanoi, which will be among the 10 largest in the world.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place this morning, August 30, with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, and other leaders from the Hanoi People’s Committee in attendance.
The project features various supporting facilities, such as commercial and service areas, high-rise office buildings, and a five-star hotel.
Replacing the old exhibition center at Giang Vo, this project is expected to become a “new wonder” in the capital city that will kick-start the vibrant “Expo” economy, according to Vingroup.
With its distinctive scale, the National Exhibition and Convention Center will become an international destination for leading global trade events and exhibitions, similar to the Dubai Expo in the UAE, Frankfurt in Germany, or Fiera Milano in Italy.
It will also be a key platform for domestic and international businesses to engage, network, and advance trade, while also acting as a new catalyst for economic growth in Hanoi.
The project is situated at the northeastern gateway of Hanoi, at the hub of major transportation routes, including roadways, airways, and the planned urban railway system.
