HCMC – Work on two rest areas on Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2024 and to be completed in the first quarter in the following year.
The Ministry of Transport is in the final stages of preparing documents to select investors and initiate construction early next year.
These two rest areas will be situated in Phong Phu Commune, Tuy Phong District, and Ham Tri Commune, Ham Thuan Bac District, covering approximately five hectares each.
The ministry previously approved a plan to develop 36 rest areas along the cross-country North-South Expressway, stretching from Lang Son in the north to Ca Mau in the south.
Currently, seven rest areas are operational, and three others are under investment. To complete the project, authorities will select investors for the remaining 26 rest areas that have not yet been invested in through a competitive bidding process.
