HCMC – Information about Covid-19 vaccination, patients and travel permits will be integrated into the VNEID mobile app, which can be used as a Covid green pass when HCMC eases its mobility restrictions, said a city official at a press briefing yesterday, September 10.
Speaking at the meeting, Le Manh Ha, deputy head of the HCMC Police Department’s advisory division, said the department has issued travel permits to 21 districts and an additional 300 travel permits for Thu Duc City, after HCMC allowed some essential services to reopen.
In the upcoming time, HCMC is set to relax social distancing measures by allowing people with a Covid green or yellow pass to go out. To prepare for the move, the Ministry of Public Security and the HCMC Police Department have launched the VNEID app.
When information about Covid vaccination, patients and travel permits is fully integrated into the app, a QR code created by the app would be used as a travel pass.
The HCMC Police Department has written to the Ministry of Public Security to request the Health Ministry and the relevant agencies to update essential data into the app, so that HCMC will have a management tool in the coming time, Ha added.
Regarding the issuance of travel permits, director of the municipal Police Department yesterday issued a dispatch on some new regulations once the city eases the mobility restrictions.
Specifically, supermarket staff and delivery workers will be allowed to work from 5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., instead of 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. as regulated by the municipal government earlier.
The municipal police would also create conditions for fully vaccinated employees from other provinces to enter HCMC for work or for residents from other localities to go to the city for medical reasons, provided they comply with Covid safety measures as required by the health authority.
It would be nice if people could be tested for Covid-19 antigens to determine if they have already had Covid-19.
Natural immunity individuals should receive a green card with a “+” on it to indicate superior and much longer lasting natural immunity from subsequent Covid-19 variants.
