HCMC – The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is set to officially commence construction on two significant packages within the Long Thanh International Airport project, including the airport terminal package, this afternoon, August 31.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, and leaders from various ministries, sectors, and localities.
Package 5.10, responsible for constructing and installing equipment for the airport’s passenger terminal, has a total value exceeding VND35 trillion. The work is projected to be completed within 39 months.
As a crucial component of the Long Thanh International Airport, the passenger terminal boasts intricate technical requirements. It features lotus flower designs on the roof, main façade, and interior of the check-in area.
Last week, ACV announced that a consortium led by Turkey’s IC ISTAS won the bid for constructing the airport’s passenger terminal. The consortium consists of 10 enterprises, including IC ISTAS and local construction companies like Ricons, Newtecons, SOL E&C, and Vinaconex.
Simultaneously with the terminal, construction on package 4.6 of the airport, involving a 4,000-meter-long runway, taxiways, and auxiliary structures, will also commence this afternoon. The construction, with an investment of VND7.3 trillion, is expected to be completed in 700 days.
In addition, ACV will start work on Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s T3 terminal, a multi-story parking facility with non-aviation services, and a front apron system.
The groundbreaking ceremony for these two pivotal projects in the aviation industry will take place both offline and online, simultaneously at Long Thanh and Tan Son Nhat International Airports.
