HCMC – The HCMC Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority has unveiled plans to select a contractor for the restart of work on Dinh intersection of National Highway 1A and Nguyen Van Qua Street in District 12, especially an overpass.

Contractor selection for the VND397.5-billion project is anticipated to take place in the fourth quarter of this year to expedite project construction.

The investment policy for the Dinh intersection construction project received approval from the HCMC People’s Council in 2016, with the start date initially scheduled for the end of 2019. However, the project has been delayed due to problems with capital allocation and design consultancy.

The Dinh intersection project, located in the northwest gateway area of HCMC, will involve the construction of a 600-meter overpass on National Highway 1 as its primary component.

The plan includes the expansion of Nguyen Van Qua, Tan Thoi Hiep 20, and Nguyen Thi Dang streets, along with improvements to water drainage, lighting systems, and green space in the vicinity.

Upon completion of the overpass and the expansion of roadways passing through the intersection, the HCMC Department of Transport said traffic congestion in the area could be reduced.
