HCMC – Around 1,000 people will participate in a mass yoga performance on the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in HCMC’s District 1 on June 21 to celebrate the 8th International Yoga Day.
At a press briefing in HCMC yesterday, the Consulate General of India in HCMC announced that a series of activities to celebrate the 8th International Yoga Day will be organized in the city and 14 southern provinces.
The activities in HCMC will be held by the Consulate General of India in HCMC, in collaboration with the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs, the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM).
Besides HCMC, 14 southern provinces and cities, including Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Dong Thap and Daklak, will coordinate with the Consulate General of India to celebrate the day in June and July.
Speaking at the press briefing, Madan Mohan Sethi, Indian Consul General in HCMC, said this year’s edition is aimed at looking for a new source of positivity after the world was plagued by the Covid pandemic for two years.
With “Yoga for Humanity” being chosen as the theme of the 8th International Yoga Day, the organizing committee expects to highlight the sense of community among people toward a sustainable life.
