HCMC – The Airports Corporation of Vietnam has worked out a plan to conduct Covid-19 tests for all employees of 21 airports nationwide.
The employees of Tan Nhat Son International Airport in HCMC, Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province, Can Tho International Airport in the city of the same name, Vinh International Airport in Nghe An Province and Lien Khuong Airport in Lam Dong Province have already been tested and all the results have come back negative, the local media reported.
Staff of the remaining 16 airports—Noi Bai, Danang, Phu Quoc, Cat Bi, Phu Bai, Buon Ma Thuot, Phu Cat, Pleiku, Chu Lai, Tho Xuan, Dong Hoi, Tuy Hoa, Con Dao, Dien Bien, Rach Gia and Ca Mau—will be tested in the upcoming days. The Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi has the largest number of employees at 3,200.
The authorities of airports proposed to the governments of provinces and cities where the airports are located to ask the local centers for disease control to take samples for testing.
On February 4, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam ordered the enhancement of Covid-19 prevention measures ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, especially at airports, flight operating centers and public vehicles. Units in the aviation sector must be on the highest alert.
Airports must promptly report air passengers with abnormal symptoms to healthcare agencies and constantly disinfect equipment and areas.
