HCMC – Cao Van Chong was relieved from his position of deputy general director at Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex/BCM) from June 2 as he will assume a new post at the Binh Duong Province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Chong became deputy general director of Becamex on March 3 this year.
As for Becamex’s business performance, its net revenue in the first quarter of the year reached VND1.436 trillion, up 2% year-on-year. Real estate sales hit VND1.06 trillion, accounting for 74% of the total revenue.
Its after-tax profit fell 16% against the same period last year to reach VND391 billion.
For 2022, Becamex looks to earn VND9.68 trillion in revenue and VND2.88 trillion in after-tax profit, both up 19% and 98% compared to the 2021 figures.
Wrapping up the first quarter, Becamex completed 14.8% of the target revenue and 13.5% of the target profit.
Closing the session today, June 6, BCM shed 3.08% over the session earlier at VND69,300.
On the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, the benchmark VN-Index gained 2.03 points, or 0.16% against last Friday at 1,290.01, with 141 winners and 315 losers. Turnover on the southern bourse expanded over 24% in volume and over 31% in value compared to the previous session at more than 589 million shares and over VND16.9 trillion.
Among the advancers, gas firm GAS reached a new high after it rose 4.6% to VND129,900. Besides, other large-cap stocks such as consumer goods producer MSN, petroleum distributor PLX, lender VCB, and brewery company SAB contributed to the main index’s rise.
Meanwhile, a host of bank stocks ended lower, adding that many bluechips including tech firm FPT, brokerage SSI, and real estate developer VIC lost.
On the Hanoi bourse, a pickup in sell orders toward the end of the session drove the HNX-Index down. With 72 stocks rising and 116 others declining, the HNX-Index lost 3.66 points, or 1.18%, versus the previous session at 306.81.
