HCMC – The Ministry of Health today, June 8, reported 913 new Covid cases, down by 47 against yesterday.
Hanoi took the lead with 187 cases, followed by Yen Bai with 67 cases and Bac Ninh with 57 cases. Other localities reported fewer than 50 cases each.
Today, the ministry confirmed nearly 8,400 recoveries and no new Covid deaths.
Quang Ninh Province has ordered the completion of Covid vaccinations for children aged between five and 11 before the school year 2022-2023.
The province will take advantage of the summer vacation to complete the vaccination drive.
To date, 31% of children aged 5-11 in the province have got the first shot and 15% have received the second shot.
According to the standing board of the provincial Party Committee, the early Covid vaccination has contributed to reducing new cases, critical cases and deaths, and safely and flexibly adapting to and effectively controlling the pandemic.
The pandemic has been put under control in the province. Its Covid death rate is the lowest in the country, at 0.041% of infections.
In addition, it is among the four localities with the highest vaccination rates nationwide.
