HCMC – HCMC has welcomed 460 meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) guests from India, the biggest MICE group from the South Asian country that has traveled to Vietnam so far, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

These MICE tourists are executives and employees at Volvo-Eicher, India’s bus and truck manufacturer, the local media reported.

The municipal department on July 16 joined hands with some other relevant units to organize a welcome ceremony for these MICE guests set to stay in the city from July 15 to 18.

Speaking at the event, a representative of Volvo-Eicher thanked the city for a warm welcome, expecting to return to HCMC in the near future to seek investment opportunities.

Apart from attending meetings and conferences, and enjoying local food in the city, the MICE guests will admire the Saigon River on yacht, visit shopping malls and take a tour to the Mekong Delta region.

According to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the HCMC Department of Tourism, the department is ramping up investment in tourism products and completing tourism infrastructure to boost the MICE segment and attract foreign and domestic groups of tourists. The city aims to welcome two or three million international travelers in 2022.
