HCMC – Travel companies and agencies will work together to discuss ways to entice more international visitors to Vietnam during a forum called the Vietnam Tourism Development Linkage Forum in 2022 to be held in HCMC on August 8 and 9.
The event will focus on attracting international visitors to Vietnam and contributing to the comprehensive recovery of the tourism industry, including the domestic, inbound and outbound sectors, said Vu The Binh, chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association.
With favorable immigration and tax policies, linking tourism activities among localities and agencies could introduce novel and appealing travel services and products in the post-Covid-19 era, serving as an important factor-driven effort to attract international tourists to Vietnam, Binh added.
The event is expected to promote a high-quality synchronous linkage in terms of tourism, in line with preparing for the effective recovery of the international tourist market, along with the involvement of tourism businesses and travel agencies.
Nguyen Thi Khanh, chairwoman of the HCMC Tourism Association, said that it is the first time that the Vietnam Tourism Development Linkage Forum has been held. The event is expected to be a strong start, promising to connect tourism businesses across the country to attract international tourists back to Vietnam after the Covid pandemic.
According to Khanh, the event offers ample opportunities for delegates to come up with solutions and urgently supplement the need of the industry in human resources, particularly through the seminar, “Training human resources reaching international standards for high-end hotels in the new era”, that will take place on August 9.
Nguyen Minh Man, head of Communications – Marketing at TST Tourist, said the tourism linkage and promotion between HCMC and the provinces in the North Central region and the Mekong Delta have provided visitors with new types of travel services, with more “sources of materials” adding to diversifying Vietnamese tourism products.
More than 120 businesses are expected to take part in the event. Up to now, the organizers have confirmed the participation of provinces in the northern region, the Central Highlands, the central region and the Mekong Delta, as well as the engagement of the tourism authorities of South Korea, Thailand and Japan in Vietnam.
