Khanh Hoa proposes stopping receiving repatriation flights

Must read

HCMC – As Covid-19 is raging, Khanh Hoa Province has written to the ministries of National Defense, Foreign Affairs and Transport proposing stopping receiving flights bringing home Vietnamese from abroad at the Cam Ranh International Airport.

If approved, the suspension will last until the province brings the Covid-19 outbreak under control, the local media reported.

Over the past few days, Khanh Hoa has detected several new cases, the provincial government said, adding that the number of direct and indirect contacts of confirmed cases is expected to soar.

After receiving the proposal, the Ministry of Transport assigned the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to work with the agencies and units under the ministries of Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Health and Public Security to handle the proposal.

Besides, Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa Province has strengthened anti-Covid-19 measures in the fight against the pandemic, Luu Thanh Nhan, vice chairman of the city, said last night.

All makeshift fishing wharves began suspending their operations from today, July 12, while the city is considering extending the suspension of the Hon Ro fishing port until the stay-at-home order ends after 14 days from July 9.

Meanwhile, traditional markets are being monitored closely and only selling essential goods and food. The city is planning to apply the “market coupon” policy to limit gatherings amid the Covid-19 outbreak. Each household will be given coupons to go to the market every three days until the stay-at-home period ends.

Nhan said that after three days of the 14-day stay-at-home period under the prime ministerial Directive 16, several people violated anti-virus regulations. Authorities fined 24 businesses a combined VND16 million, while seven individuals were fined a total of VND14 million for wearing no masks.

As of this afternoon, Khanh Hoa Province reported 184 domestic Covid-19 cases in the fourth wave of the coronavirus, mainly in Nha Trang City.
