HCMC – The HCMC health authority will convert the inpatient treatment zone of the HCMC Oncology Hospital No.2 in Thu Duc City into a Covid-19 intensive care center with 1,000 beds, aimed at coping with the rising number of cases in the city.
The available infrastructure facilities of the modern hospital will give the center an enormous advantage, providing respiratory support including oxygen therapy, invasive and non-invasive ventilation to 1,000 patients at one time, reported the local media.
Specifically, all of the beds are equipped with the medical oxygen pipeline and medical suction systems. Among them, 100 are well-equipped ICU beds for patients in critical condition.
Accordingly, HCMC will add this Covid-19 intensive care center to a list of the highest-level medical facilities for Covid-19 treatment, which already includes the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the Cho Ray Hospital.
The Ministry of Health will dispatch ICU specialists from the People’s Hospital 115 and Gia Dinh People’s Hospital as well as other specialists from general hospitals in the city and various provinces.
The health sector will mobilize the available specialized medical equipment from hospitals citywide and provide modern equipment for the center. Medical equipment donated by sponsors and given by the Health Ministry will also be prioritized for the center.
