HCMC – The demand for short-stay tours has surged over the past few days in the lead up to the National Day holiday (September 2).
As the hoiday lasts four days, from September 1 to 4, travel companies have launched many domestic short and outbound tours to meet the increasing travel demands of customers.
A representative of Saigontourist said many parents take their children on vacation during this time.
Although the customer volume is not as high as in the previous months, this holiday would see ample tourism activities, leading to a scarcity of best-selling tour programs.
Tran Bao Thu, communications director of Fiditour – Vietluxtour Travel Company, said the number of travelers would soar by 70-80% year-on-year and that the company had achieved 70% of its business plan for the holiday.
Tran Ngoc Vuong, a travel enthusiast, said he chose Cat Tien Nation Park in Dong Nai Province to travel before the summer ends.
The National Park boasts many old trees, anteaters and freshwater crocodiles, attracting many tourists.
Besides Cat Tien, Dong Nai is home to celebrated tourist areas such as Suoi Mo in Tan Phu District, Buu Long and Son Tien in Bien Hoa City.
As for outbound tours, companies said customers tended to look for destinations in regional countries.
Tours of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia are greatly sought after due to their reasonable prices at VND8-10 million per person on average.
Travel firms have launched various tour packages on their websites, promising new travel experiences.
According to the Culture, Sport and Tourism Department of Lam Dong, 40% of hotel rooms are fully booked, rising further to 60% during the holiday.
Dalat is expected to witness an influx of tourists, with nearly 500,000 visitors, like during summer weekends.
Meanwhile, in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Trinh Hoanh, director of the tourism department, said the department is seeking to reduce traffic congestion on National Highway No.51 to make travel easy.
He added many parking lots have been completed and QR-coded on Google Maps for drivers.
In Tay Ninh, new cable car lines have been expanded from the base to the top of the Ba Den Mountain, alongside vegetarian culinary culture.
According to Pham Ngoc Ha, deputy director of Saco Travel, Tay Ninh had been attracting more Cambodian travelers, with an increasing demand for resort, exploration and healing tours.
