HCMC – The Saigon Times Group, in collaboration with the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association and NS BlueScope Vietnam Company’s Colorbond Steel®, will hold a forum titled “Getting ready for the shift of the supply chain of the electronics industry” on October 4 at the Meliá Hanoi, Hanoi City.

By bringing experts and representatives of departments, agencies, and organizations together through the CEO Forum, the Saigon Times Group aims to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and proposing tangible solutions, encouraging the electronics industry to overcome hurdles with the goal of sustainable development.

The global accessories supply chains have been interrupted while fuel and raw materials prices have risen due to various factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and China’s zero-Covid policy.

The looming consequences have posed tough challenges to Vietnam’s supporting industries, particularly the electronic components sector. Moreover, the risk of labor shortage, notably of highly-skilled workers, has compounded the dire situation for domestic manufacturing. As a result, domestic industrial production fell by 5% month-on-month in May, given a shortage of materials.

Despite such formidable obstacles, the electronics industry may be able to draw on certain advantages to maintain its growth performance. Given the shifts of multinational corporations’ supply chains from China to neighboring countries, including Vietnam, the country’s economy is gathering substantial development momentum in the coming years.

The participants at the forum will lay out an overview of the electronic accessories sector and the impacts of new regulations on the electronics industry. More importantly, the event helps shed light on potential demands and suppliers/manufacturers’ selection trends of the major economies, with strategies for businesses for long-term development and competition in the supply chain.

The speakers will also address what Big Tech seek from their counterparts, along with solutions to overcome challenges in meeting the requirements of electronics cleanrooms.
