HCMC – All 12 subprojects under the 723.7-kilometer North-South expressway project’s second phase will get off the ground concurrently on January 1, 2023.
The Ministry of Transport has signed a decision opening the Cam Lo-La Son expressway to traffic and holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the 12 subprojects of the North-South expressway in the 2021-2025 period.
The 12 subprojects will start work concurrently in nine provinces — Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Hau Giang and Ca Mau.
These provinces are stepping up efforts to hand over cleared land on schedule. Nine of 12 packages under the 12 subprojects have completed 70% of land clearance for the construction, the local media reported.
The provinces that the expressway will run across have handed over more than 472.2 kilometers of the total land for the project, or 65%.
The second phase of the North-South expressway project will cost nearly VND147 trillion.
The Cam Lo-La Son expressway is part of the Eastern North-South expressway project in the 2017-2020 period.
