HCMC – The government of Dong Nai City has ordered local agencies to speed up compensation, support and resettlement work for five key traffic infrastructure projects connecting Long Thanh International Airport and HCMC.
The projects include HCMC’s Beltway No. 4, Road 773, Road 770B, Road 769 and Huong Lo 2, all of which are scheduled to break ground this year.
The projects worth tens of trillions of Vietnamese dong are expected to enhance regional connectivity between Dong Nai, Long Thanh International Airport and HCMC.
Thousands of households are affected by land acquisition for the projects.
Authorities were instructed to continue mobilizing personnel to conduct land and asset inventories and quickly finalize compensation and support plans for approval under regulations.
Local governments were also asked to complete verification of households directly engaged in agricultural production as a basis for vocational training, career transition and job placement support.
To speed up implementation and avoid repeated revisions that could delay progress and public investment disbursement, communes and wards were told to carry out appraisals of compensation and support plans simultaneously.
According to the Dong Nai City People’s Committee, the party secretaries of communes and wards were asked to oversee compensation and site clearance work to ensure the disbursement of around VND5 trillion in public investment capital for the five projects by mid-May.
