HCMC – Dalat City will be expanded in the future to include the existing city as the administrative and tourism development center, along with six satellite towns.
The development plan was stated in the tasks of adjusting the overall master plan of Dalat City and its surrounding areas by 2045, replacing the 2014 planning scheme, which has been approved by the prime minister.
Dalat City and its surrounding districts of Lac Duong, Don Duong, Duc Trong and part of Lam Ha District, with a total land area of 335,000 hectares, will be subject to the adjustment plan.
A model of a series of urban areas linked together by the belt roads and radial roads will be applied for development of Dalat City, which will see a connection between eco-tourism areas, agricultural areas and forest landscape areas, together with a sustainable development, conservation and promotion of natural, cultural and historical identities.
In the future, Lam Dong will consist of six satellite towns, while the existing city will function as a multi-functional connecting center.
Dalat City, with an area of 5,900 hectares, will become an administrative, luxury tourism and architectural heritage conservation center.
Meanwhile, Duc Trong and Lam Ha districts are to be a commercial, amusement, tourism and hi-tech agricultural development centers.
The connection between Dalat, its surrounding areas and Bao Loc City; between Lien Khuong airport, Phan Rang-Dalat railway and the system of expressways and highways to support the city’s development will be taken into account by the authorities in this adjustment.
Dalat is a city in the Central Highland Province of Lam Dong, which is 300 km north of HCMC. It was established 130 years ago when doctor Alexandre Yersin set foot on Lam Vien Plateau. Lying at an altitude of 1,500 meters, the city has cool weather all year round, luring many international and local tourists.
