HCMC – Mai Son-National Highway 45 and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressways will be opened to traffic on April 29 while Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet expressway will be put into service on May 19.

On April 24, the Ministry of Transport issued an inauguration ceremony agenda for the eastern North-South Expressway in 2017-2020, cited the Vietnam News Agency.

The inauguration ceremony of Mai Son-National Highway 45 and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressways will be held on April 29, a day earlier than previously planned. Under the current decision of the ministry, the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet section of the cross-country expressway will not be put into operation on this occasion.

The Ministry of Construction planned to hold an opening ceremony for the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet section, together with the Nha Trang-Cam Lam expressway, on May 19, 2023.

The 63-kilometer-long Mai Son-National Highway 45 section, which runs through Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces, cost an estimated VND12,000 billion, funded by the State budget. The project, executed on September 2020, was opened for a testing service from December 2022.

The 99-kilometer-long Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway, passing through Binh Thuan and Dong Nai provinces, started construction on September 2020 and was originally set to be completed on December 2022. However, the project’s opening had to be rescheduled until April 29, 2023.
