HCMC – PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), which trades its POW shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE), posted over VND10.4 trillion in revenue in January-April. The company did not provide data of the year-ago period for comparison.
In April alone, it made over VND2.6 trillion in revenue, down 7% year-on-year, and posted electricity output of 1.369 million kWh.
The company plans to increase its output and revenue by 8% next month to about 1.5 million kWh and VND2,831 billion.
The firm’s first-quarter revenue rose 5% year-on-year to over VND7.4 trillion. However, a 12% increase in input costs resulted in the company’s profit margin contracting to 9% from 15%.
POW closed the trading session today, May 12, 0.75% higher than the previous session, at VND13,400 per share and reported a matching volume of more than 4.8 million shares.
With advancers outnumbering decliners by 222 to 140, the VN-Index of the HOSE gained 9.78 points, or 0.93%, over the session earlier, at 1,066.9 points.
More than 725.8 million shares worth nearly VND12 trillion were traded on the southern bourse, up 2.47% in volume and 3.84% in value day-on-day. Over 37.28 million shares transacted in block deals contributed VND856 billion to the overall value.
HPG of local steelmaker Hoa Phat Group took the lead by liquidity today with a matching volume of 45.1 million shares.
On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index added 0.69 points, or 0.32%, from the previous session to 215.1 points, with 105 winners and 79 losers.
Trade on the Hanoi exchange amounted to more than VND1.5 trillion with 117 million shares changing hands.
