HCMC – FPT Corporation (stock code: FPT) posted over VND24.1 trillion in revenue and around VND4.3 trillion in pre-tax profit in the first half of 2023, up 21.9% and 19.3% year-on-year, respectively.
FPT Corporation made around VND14.2 trillion in revenue from its information technology (IT) activities between January and June, accounting for 59% of the company’s total revenue.
Particularly, the company’s IT services in foreign markets generated around VND11.2 trillion in revenue, up 30.2%, and VND1.8 trillion in pre-tax profit, up 34.6% year-on-year.
It is also worth noting that FPT’s revenue from IT activities in the Japanese market grew a staggering 39.1% year-on-year.
At the beginning of June, FPT opened its 15th office in Japan. The company also signed a cooperation agreement with Honda in the field of information technology service management.
Recently, FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, inaugurated an office in Jakarta, Indonesia, furthering the company’s global expansion.
Closing the trading section today, FPT stock soared by 3.3% to VND78,300 per share. The trading of FPT today also reached over 2.8 million shares, up more than 130% compared to the recent 10-day average.
On the southern bourse, the VN-Index added 2.98 points, or 0.26%, from yesterday’s session to 1,168.4 points, with 220 winners and 192 losers.
Trade volume and value contracted by 29.26% and 25.14% day-on-day to over 1,042 million shares and VND20.87 trillion. Block deals contributed nearly VND1.55 trillion to the overall value, with 69 million shares changing hands.
The stocks of securities brokerage firms performed well. Notably, VIX closed at its daily upper limit with 44.77 million shares changing hands, while VND rose by 3.1% to VND18,500 per share with 43.13 million units traded.
Profit-taking pressure dragged lender STB down by 3.3% to VND29,000 per share, with 74.75 million shares matched in the market.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index added 0.22 points, or 0.09%, to 230.19 points, with 79 advancers and 83 decliners. The trading volume totaled 105.5 million shares worth over VND1.5 trillion.
