HCMC – The Dau Giay toll station on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway resumed toll collection today, September 20, after an over-two-month suspension caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, said a Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) representative.
Hung Loc Commune in Dong Nai Province’s Thong Nhat District, where the tollgate is located, will stop enforcing the stay-at-home mandate under the prime minister’s Directive 16 starting from the same day. Accordingly, the tollgate is eligible to resume operations, as part of the local authorities’ plan to gradually reopen economic activities and ensure Covid safety in the new normal, the VEC representative added.
Moreover, from today, vehicles traveling on the expressway will be exempt from toll fees at the Long Phuoc and National Highway 51 tollgates.
Earlier, the expressway suspended operations on July 20 to combat the latest Covid outbreak
The 55-kilometer-long expressway links the southern province with HCMC, with over VND20.6 trillion in investment. It was built in 2009 and put into service in 2015, serving as an economic and transportation link between HCMC and the southeastern and Central Highlands regions.
