HCMC – A local who returned to Vietnam from Kuwait on June 16 was confirmed positive to Covid-19 this morning, June 17, taking the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 335, according to the national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control.
The 335th patient, a 24-year-old man, has lived and worked in Kuwait for two years. After arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on June 16, the resident of Thai Nguyen Province was sent to a quarantine center in HCMC and had his sample checked. His positive test result came out on the same day.
The patient is being treated at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases, VietnamPlus news site reported.
As of 6.00 a.m. this morning, Vietnam has not recorded any new Covid-19 cases caused by community transmission for 62 straight days. Among the 335 confirmed cases, as many as 325 patients have fully recovered from the virus.
